Insurance included as standard
The standout feature of Parcelforce is that every service includes compensation cover at no extra cost. Express 24 and Express 48 come with £100 cover, while premium services include £200. You can increase cover up to £2,500 for a small additional fee. This is a significant advantage over couriers like Evri (£20 default) and Yodel (£50 default) where meaningful insurance costs extra.
Tracking and delivery
All Parcelforce services include full tracking with text and email notifications. You receive a one-hour delivery window on the morning of delivery for Express services. Signature on delivery is standard, giving you proof that the right person received the parcel. The tracking interface is straightforward and reliable, if not as feature-rich as DPD's live map.
Size and weight limits
Parcelforce accepts parcels up to 30 kg domestically and up to 30 kg internationally. Maximum dimensions are 150 cm length with a combined length and girth of 300 cm. For anything heavier, you'll need a pallet service — but for most parcels that exceed Royal Mail's 20 kg limit, Parcelforce is the natural step up.
Our verdict
Parcelforce is the smart choice when you're sending valuable items and want insurance without paying extra. Their pricing sits at the higher end, but when you factor in the included cover, the total cost often works out comparable to cheaper couriers plus their insurance add-ons.
