Yodel Courier Review 2026

Yodel sits in the budget tier with Evri, but delivers a meaningfully different experience. Here is the honest verdict.

Yodel is the forgotten middle child of UK couriers. Not as cheap as Evri, not as premium as DPD, but quietly delivering around 190 million parcels a year. The consumer reputation is mixed — it scores poorly in Trustpilot and MoneySavingExpert polls — but in our experience that reputation is dated. The 2023–24 network investments have improved reliability considerably.

Where Yodel shines: the 5–15kg sweet spot

Yodel is consistently cheapest in the 5–15kg weight band. If you are shipping heavy-but-small items like books, tools or home goods, Yodel beats Evri on price once you cross 5kg, and beats DPD by several pounds. This is Yodel's real niche — it is not trying to compete with Evri on 1kg Vinted parcels.

Tracking: better than Evri, worse than DPD

Yodel tracking gives you a morning-of delivery window — typically two hours wide (for example 11:00–13:00). You cannot live-track the driver, but you do get an ETA that updates through the day. Delivery photos are standard. This sits comfortably between Evri (sparse) and DPD (excellent).

The issues that remain

  • Rural coverage — Yodel's network is weaker outside major conurbations. Delivery times stretch to 3–4 days in parts of Scotland and Wales.
  • Store to Door unreliability — home deliveries are more inconsistent than drop-off via their 7,000 collection points.
  • Customer service — still primarily chatbot-driven, with long waits for human agents.

When to use Yodel

  • Parcels in the 5–15kg range where Yodel's pricing wins.
  • Non-urgent deliveries where 2–3 day service is fine.
  • Drop-off shipping via Yodel Store collection points.

When not to use Yodel

  • High-value items (compensation capped at £50 without upgrade).
  • Deliveries to remote postcodes.
  • Anything you need live tracking for.
